While standard seven-segment displays are great for alarm clocks and microwaves they severely limit your ability to display anything other than numbers. The SparkFun Qwiic Alphanumeric Display solves this by using pink fourteen-segment digits so you can clearly display letters and symbols on top of the numbers you would expect.
