Introduction

The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-P4 Development Kit is a complete solution for building advanced devices with artificial intelligence, video, and wireless capabilities. At its core is a powerful 360MHz dual-core RISC-V processor (ESP32-P4), designed for machine learning and complex tasks. The kit provides dedicated MIPI interfaces for directly connecting high-resolution cameras and displays, while an onboard co-processor delivers modern Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity. To make all this power easy to use, the included IO Expansion Board eliminates the need for complex wiring, providing a streamlined platform to bring sophisticated projects like AI cameras or interactive smart displays to life.

High-Performance RISC-V Processing with AI Acceleration

Powered by a 360MHz dual-core 32-bit RISC-V CPU, the ESP32-P4 offers dedicated AI instruction extensions and hardware acceleration. The system supports the deployment of lightweight machine learning models such as TensorFlow Lite, enabling real-time applications including speech recognition, image classification, and intelligent automation.


Native Multimedia Interface and Hardware Acceleration

The kit includes native MIPI-CSI and MIPI-DSI interfaces, enabling direct integration with high-resolution cameras and displays. With hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding, ISP, and PPA modules, the system is well-suited for applications involving video capture, streaming, and graphical rendering.


Next-Generation Wireless Connectivity

An onboard ESP32-C6 co-processor provides support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 (LE), ensuring fast, reliable wireless communication for IoT and smart device applications. The inclusion of USB OTG 2.0 further enhances peripheral connectivity.


IO Expansion Board for Rapid Prototyping

The accompanying IO Expansion Board is designed to streamline hardware development. It offers a clean, organized alternative to breadboarding by providing multiple I2C, UART, and power headers. This layout simplifies sensor and module integration while eliminating common issues such as pin conflicts and unstable wiring. All pin functions are clearly labeled on the board silkscreen for fast, error-free development.

Compatibility Notice: This board features the ESP32-P4 chip (v1.0) running at 360MHz. You can use it with both Arduino IDE and ESP-IDF. Please note that two specific advanced features, MIPI-CSI and AI functions, currently require ESP-IDF. All other functions are fully compatible with the Arduino IDE.
