The SimpleFOCmini is a compact, high-performance driver board engineered for the precise control of Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. Measuring just 26 x 21.5mm, this driver integrates Field-Oriented Control (FOC)—an advanced algorithm for real-time, closed-loop management of the motor's magnetic field. It supports a wide 8-30V power input and delivers up to 2.5A peak current, enabling superior efficiency and smooth, responsive control over motor position, speed, and torque. With native 3.3V/5V signal compatibility and full support for the SimpleFOC open-source library, it serves as an accessible, high-performance BLDC motor driver for developers using Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi platforms.

Precise Control at All Speeds

Unlike conventional ESCs that struggle with low-speed stability, the FOC algorithm implemented by the SimpleFOCmini provides robust and smooth motor control across the entire speed range—from a complete standstill to maximum RPM. The SimpleFOCmini unlocks three distinct closed-loop control modes. This motion control solution moves beyond simple speed adjustments to allow for direct current (torque) control for force-feedback systems, precise speed control for maintaining constant velocity under varying loads, and high-accuracy position control for robotic arms and actuators.


Exceptionally Quiet and Smooth Operation

By utilizing a sinusoidal wave drive instead of the high-frequency square waves found in typical ESCs, the SimpleFOCmini ensures exceptionally smooth motor commutation. This results in a significant reduction in audible noise and mechanical vibration, making this FOC controller ideal for noise-sensitive applications.


High-Performance Commutation and Braking

The FOC methodology provides superior commutation performance, enabling seamless and rapid switching between forward and reverse rotation, even at high speeds.
