Introduction

Micro Metal Gearmotor is a compact brushed DC gearmotor engineered for small robotics, precision motion mechanisms, and educational prototypes where space and weight are limited. A miniature metal gearbox paired with a high‑speed DC motor delivers significant torque reduction while maintaining reliable rotational output. A long 0.365" (9.27 mm) D‑shaped metal shaft provides stable coupling with compact robot wheels and mechanical linkages, supporting efficient power transfer in micro robotic platforms, mobile robots, and experimental motion systems. Careful mechanical design also enables secure mounting and straightforward integration into lightweight mechanical assemblies.

D‑Shaped Output Shaft for Secure Wheel Coupling

This compact DC gear motor features a 0.365" (9.27 mm) D‑shaped metal output shaft designed to interface directly with miniature robotics wheels such as the Pololu 42×19 mm and 32×7 mm models. The flat‑edge shaft geometry prevents slipping between the shaft and hub, ensuring stable torque transmission during acceleration and directional changes. Such mechanical reliability is particularly valuable in small mobile robots, line‑following vehicles, and lightweight autonomous platforms where consistent wheel control directly affects navigation accuracy.

Flexible Mounting Options for Robotics Integration

A brass faceplate with two M1.6 threaded mounting holes (1.6 mm diameter, 0.35 mm thread pitch) enables firm attachment to custom frames, chassis plates, or robotic brackets. Additional mounting hardware such as standard or extended gearmotor brackets can fully enclose exposed gears while improving structural stability. Extended brackets are especially suitable for wheels with recessed hubs, including the wheel 42×19 mm. Such mounting flexibility simplifies mechanical integration across robotics prototypes and compact motion assemblies.

This miniature gearbox motor enables reliable drive solutions for educational robots, compact mobile platforms, and experimental motion mechanisms. Precise gear reduction combined with a stable output shaft allows consistent wheel control and manageable torque in small robotic systems. Typical applications include line‑following robots, micro rover platforms, classroom robotics experiments, and other lightweight electromechanical projects requiring efficient motion in a compact footprint.
