Full description
The MAN1216Q50 is the "Locking" version of our multi-band GNSS helical antenna. It offers the same high-precision L1/L2/L5 reception as the standard model but adds a specialized three-screw flange at the base. This antenna is the ideal choice for equipment mounts requiring a small sturdy GNSS antenna to be permanently installed and can be used with any SMA cable. Why the Locking Flange?Standard SMA connectors are excellent for static devices but in high-vibration environments like UAVs autonomous agricultural rovers or automotive applications threaded connectors can loosen over time. This locking version solves that problem in two ways:Security: The three screw points physically secure the antenna to the case preventing it from loosening under vibration or movement.Durability: The additional mount points transfer horizontal torsion and physical shock away from the sensitive SMA connector and into the stronger surrounding chassis materials. Is This Antenna for You?Despite its mounting system this antenna maintains a lower profile than many other helical options. Internally it uses a Quadrifilar Helix structure that provides excellent gain and wide-angle circular polarization. This ensures reliable reception of low-elevation satellites even when the antenna is tilted or maneuvering. It also covers a wide array of bands including GPS (L1 L2 L5) GLONASS (G1 G2) BeiDou (B1 B2a B2b) and Galileo (E1 E5a E5b).Please be aware that while this antenna will work with a simple L1-only receiver it will not turn a $20 receiver into a $200 RTK-capable one. To get the full benefit you will need to pair it with a receiver capable of L1/L2 or L1/L2/L5 reception. For automobile applications please see the u-blox ANN-MB-00 GNSS antenna. For heavy-duty applications (like RTK Surveying) check out our GNSS Multi-Band Surveying Antenna. You can also see our other GPS / GNSS Antennas here.
